The New Clarisonic, Foreo Luna Mini Review

The Skin care hype surrounds the Clarisonic, many users referring to it as a 'Life changing device.' But now, that might change with Foreo's Luna Device.

The Clarisonic generally costs a hefty price tag and offers different brush heads to accompany your skin type. It promises to give you clear skin using  Sonic Pulses that basically blast away dirt. The Sonic technology behind the Clarisonic basically gives a deeper clean that cannot be achieved by using our hands and other manual face brushes sold at relatively cheaper prices.

Many users report a purging period, other's report that their skin get's worse and never heals, and a trip to the dermatologist office winds up with the doctor telling the user to discontinue the use of clarisonic as it's brush heads are abrasive and can cause broken capillaries and further more damage your skin. The Clarisonic's brush heads harbour Dirt, mold, and bacteria, so it's not the most hygienic option. After a certain time period of about 3 months + you have to invest in a brand new brush head for the Clarisonic.

This is where the new Foreo Luna comes in.... ( Dun dun da daaaaaaa! )

The Foreo Luna is, as quoted on their website...

Nonporous, the LUNA™ mini keeps bacteria buildup away for a far more hygienic cleansing surface than standard sonic brushes. Each one of the LUNA™ mini’s 1,300 nonabrasive touch-points are coated with smooth silicone for cleansing that feels so good, it’s like getting a mini-facial. These touch-points are specially configured into 3 zones – so whatever your skin type, the LUNA™ mini has the answer!
As Quoted on AskDerm
FOREO launched in 2013 with the world's first T-SONIC™ technology that sends up to 8,000 pulsations per minute deep beneath your skins surface providing a deep clean and stimulates blood flow revealing a healthy glow. The FOREO is designed out of silicone that is nonabrasive and uses 1,300 touch points to target all skin types. There are no brush heads to replace, one charge lasts 300+ uses and there is a 2-Year Warranty.

In a nutshell...

Although more expensive than the Clarisonic, in the long run it is cheaper as you don't have to replace brush heads. ( This is AMAZING for the environment!) Simply wash it off with some soap and water, and call it a day. The Luna Mini has a deep cleansing side on the back ( If it was the Clarisonic you would have to buy another brush head entirely..)
No nasty build up of bacteria, mold, and dirt. A++ in my book.
Nowhere near as abrasive as the Clarisonic. And great for sensitive skin types that can't even use the Clarisonic no matter the brush head type. It uses Transdermal Sonic Pulses to gently clean away dirt and help with fine lines and other anti-aging needs, whereas the clarisonic does not.

Every fifteen seconds the device stops to tell you to move onto a new area.
Foreo took the technology of the Clarisonic and invented it in a whole new way to make it better. To me the Clarisonic is a Toyota, and the Luna is it's luxury brand, a Lexus.

Overall, before purchasing the Luna I read through 30 pages of reviews. Although there were some differences between both devices, I expected both to yield similar results.

My thoughts....
I was very surprised to see that life-long Clarisonic users actually claiming that their skin IMPROVED with the use of the Luna.
I figured that both would yield the same results, on a normal skin type person without complications in a perfect world, but I did not expect to read that it could continue to improve. That, to me, ladies and gents, was rather appalling. And many Clarisonic users prefer the Luna over the Clarisonic. If you don't believe me, go ahead and read reviews for yourself.
The Luna has over 121 pages of reviews and all 4-5 stars. Iv'e only read about 3 reports of purging in general. There are various YouTube reviews, from Wayne Goss recommending it to regular users.

I received my Luna today, and tried it out. I was rather skeptical about it ( I am skeptical about almost any product as my skin is a bit difficult when it comes to treating it) and I was surprised to see that my first try did make a difference. And by difference I don't mean pimples, milia, and this weird allergic reaction I've had for almost a year now suddenly disappearing with a first try ( Although I hope with useage it will.) I mean my skin was soft, my lymph nodes felt like they were drained, and my skin literally felt weightless. Yes, weightless. My face felt clean without being stripped. The device is absolutely adorable, more adorable in person. I kind of went 'Awwww' as soon as I saw it.

UPDATE!!!!

It's been exactly 3 days since I've received and used my Luna. Those who have seen me personally know that on the very sides of face there is a rather weird looking reaction, to say the very least. It looks like a mixture of cystic acne, not as emphasized, and Keratosis Pilaris. It was so bad my father would always tease me and ask if I drew on top of my pimples. Coincidentally, I noticed more would appear when my dog would lick my face ( Well.. at least I have a matching reaction on the both sides of my face). Through time and treatments it has gone down noticeably but rather surprisingly, as soon as I started using this device. I did see a little improvement with it. Three days later and it appears almost next to gone. It was refreshing when my friend came by to visit me and right away asked what I had been doing to clear it up so beautifully. She had only seen me a week ago....
Granted, The placement of this weird allergic reaction on my face actually hides it from photos, unless I take it from a side angle. However, thanks to shitty cameras it's not very noticeable. So my skin, I can say happily, has improved quite impressively using this little device, as that awkward reaction is now not only flesh colored, but just appears as a couple of tiny pimples.
And no, to clear it up... I was not part of a bzzagent campaign, I was not given a discount to purchase this device, and I was definitely not asked to review it ( It would be nice if I was given one). As a matter of fact, I was reading reviews about the Clarisonic, deciding to buy it when someone mentioned the Luna.. so I decided to look it up.
I just feel like with a new product like this, more should be written about it, especially since Clarisonic is what's in the spotlight at this moment.
